I'm hearing on the street that Ron Rice Sr may get the Nod, if so how does that change the Mayor's race, and the political campaign?
Can Ron Win?

Hey Ron jr., as a supporter of yours, please tell your dad not to embarrass himself this time around. He doesn't have a chance, with or without the big kahunas support.

Hey 2, Correct me if i'm wrong here but you got 2 responses and their both Booker supporters. Just maybe no one is jumping in here because it doesn't make the race any more complicated. Quite frankly, backing Ron Sr. is like betting on a 3 legged horse.

Reverand Fraud,

There's no chatter because there's nothing to discuss. My message has been consistent for a while: Sharpe's not running. And because Sharpe controlled everything with an iron hand, he didn't properly groom leadership, and hence handed City Hall to Booker. It's just that simple.

Someone like Booker, despite his popularity, will always draw anti- votes. Even with that, I don't see that being too much of a factor. My guess is that Cory has about a 50/50 chance of breaking 70%. If he gets less than, say 60%, I would be shocked. I don't think Rice can get more than 35% - I'm being nice. The conventional wisdom is that Senator Rice WAS a good man that has become a party to many of the schemes that have hurt Newark. More importantly, he has no money to run his campaign, and he doesn't inspire that cultlike affection that James can. Therefore, he can't generate some sort of word-of-mouth street-level momentum. In short, we all know the winner, we are only intereted in how large the spread will be.

There are, however, other problems for Senator Rice. If he drops his own ward, which is possible - maybe even likely, then you can bet that his state seat will become at risk.

Finally, SEIU voted to endorse Booker. You might not EVER see that coalition again; that's a sure sign the Game's ARE TRULY OVER!

The real question is, can Rice be competitive enough so that Booker doesn't spend the next two months fighting for his council candidates? How does Bessie Walker do? How does Chaneyfield do? Bridgeforth? See what I mean?

I told you some time ago that when machine's fall, they don't fall a little. They GET CRUSHED. It happens about every 20 or 30 years. The combination of curruption, tired policies, no innovation, all take their toll. I also told you that I thought 2006 was going to be the year.

Hey Rev, I still got those bus tickets.

Final note: Please do not label me a "Booker supporter." I am, and always will be, a NEWARK LOVER. There will NEVER be a politician that I will blindly defend so as to perpetuate Newark's stupid factionalized politics. Now let me be clear: I plan ON VOTING FOR BOOKER. Why? Simple my friend - I'm certain that Cory Booker won't hire a police chief that says, "Drug dealers are not a priority. Drug dealer have civil liberties too." Now I don't know if that will make him a good mayor or not, but I do know that stupid crap like that is unacceptable.

NO MORE TRICKS IN 2006! EVERYONE MUST GO!!!
