Agreed, but the Turtle Back Zoo, right in our back yard in West Orange, is cheaper and better for little ones who get tired quickly. I have visited it since it has been renovated and it is great. The train ride is a nice way to beat the heat.

Is the little train still running? It is quite charming. However, the greatest killer of mankind lives at the Bronx Zoo. (You brainiacs here know what it is?) The butterfly garden and observing the apes are not to be missed.

I went to the Bronx Zoo when I was in 3rd grade and I loved it then and I love it now. What a wonderful place to learn.

I also really enjoy the Safari at Great Adventures. It's funny because the first sign you see says, "Don't feed the animals" and that's all you see going on in there. I'm waiting for a rhino to get really pi$$ed one day and knock over a SUV. Still, the look on a kid's face (say 9 or 10 years old) when one of those llamas (or whatever) sticks their face in your car is priceless.

I am soo against animals right now!!! they are attacking everywhere!!! Bears, dogs, alligators!!! They are fighting back for their land and eventhough the animals in the zoo are not from the wild... they still have instincts!!!

TE, I pray that your trip goes well without incident!! But be SAFE!
