Ok the time has come for accountability and please I don't want to hear nothing from the Booker has only been here for 45 days crowd 12 deaths and counting plus numerous shooting victims are enough to pause and think about your tactics even if you have only been here 45 days.

Now I know that Mayor Booker has his ideas to stop crime but they are not working and that may be because while the good Mayor is in front of the cameras his Hatchet man.....I mean chief of staff Pablo Fonseca is really the one running the City and screwing it up royally by the way and his first major screw up was appointing his boy Campos as acting chief so that he can take care of the portuguise and hispanic offficers while screwing with the black officers which is causing disention in the ranks and you can not put a dent on crime when you have half of your police force unhappy with the leadership. In addition Mr. Fonseca is still grinding his ax with city employees who he believes were Sharpe loyalist and have many sitting home collecting a paycheck from the city since July first when they can be at work if not to do nothing but work in the safe summer programs that the Mayor wants implemented.

My advice to Mr. Booker is to reign in Pablo we elected him not is Chief of staff and if this continues you are about to see a movement walking towards city hall and trust me Pablo has already made enough enemies for this to happen.

As I've stated before...I would like to see the Guard deployed in Newark to help curb the violence. But on what basis would Booker be able to lobby Corzine to do that? Has the crime rate spiked? No. Has some dire wide-spread threat to public safety occured? There's been some awful incidents, but no.

That is disappointing that it is not being enforced. Maybe if it was, those kids that got shot a couple weeks ago would have been off the street.

Here is some of the answers to the questions, we dont need national guard,but as stated, the state police and county police are assisting, the national guard office on Roseville ave, is just a site for active/inactive duty officers to check in and out for training purposes while their in the reserves not for the city's use. I was told that the curfew is in effect but i believe that officers are told not to enforce it because it will clutter the jails for misdemenor offense, i believe it's probably use when juvenile give the officers a hard time, but yes i strongly believe it should be a top priority to enforce to ensure the younsters under the age of 18 can be eliminates as one of the victims of the after the hours murders, believe me when i say i dont want to take up for Booker, but i have seen more police(state, county and city) out visibly on the streets, but yes more can be done.

Have anyone rode pass any of the summer safe zones, if so how many beat walkers or patrol cars are in that zone, something tells me not enough presence of officers are their and also are the beat walkers checking folks for id, most of those folks are the buying, they need to flip and arrest the buyer because without the buyers ain't no money to be made.

Hey folks, i actually just made a phone call to a friend of mine who is a national guard reservist from that site, he said that even if the national guards had to be deployed, they would not deployed the national guards that's within that city because they the national guard would have to come face to face with folks they know, and also that site of Roseville is used for drills only. That is disappointing that it is not being enforced. Maybe if it was, those kids that got shot a couple weeks ago would have been off the street.

to include 18, 19, 20 and 21 year olds because they are the ones who are out on the sreet commiting drivebys, gangbanging,drug dealing and making noise also.

Some of them get by because they look younger, but the reality is they are the ages I mentioned. In age, they are considered adults, but in many cases,their minsets are child like as when a child throws a temper tantrum. A child will throw things but these men children shoot and kill when they don't get their way, or when someone does something to them they don't like or appreciate.

Here is some of the answers to the questions, we dont need national guard,but as stated, the state police and county police are assisting, the national guard office on Roseville ave, is just a site for active/inactive duty officers to check in and out for training purposes while their in the reserves not for the city's use. I was told that the curfew is in effect but i believe that officers are told not to enforce it because it will clutter the jails for misdemenor offense, i believe it's probably use when juvenile give the officers a hard time, but yes i strongly believe it should be a top priority to enforce to ensure the younsters under the age of 18 can be eliminates as one of the victims of the after the hours murders, believe me when i say i dont want to take up for Booker, but i have seen more police(state, county and city) out visibly on the streets, but yes more can be done.

Have anyone rode pass any of the summer safe zones, if so how many beat walkers or patrol cars are in that zone, something tells me not enough presence of officers are their and also are the beat walkers checking folks for id, most of those folks are the buying, they need to flip and arrest the buyer because without the buyers ain't no money to be made.

Ok the time has come for accountability and please I don't want to hear nothing from the Booker has only been here for 45 days crowd 12 deaths and counting plus numerous shooting victims are enough to pause and think about your tactics even if you have only been here 45 days.

Now I know that Mayor Booker has his ideas to stop crime but they are not working and that may be because while the good Mayor is in front of the cameras his Hatchet man.....I mean chief of staff Pablo Fonseca is really the one running the City and screwing it up royally by the way and his first major screw up was appointing his boy Campos as acting chief so that he can take care of the portuguise and hispanic offficers while screwing with the black officers which is causing disention in the ranks and you can not put a dent on crime when you have half of your police force unhappy with the leadership. In addition Mr. Fonseca is still grinding his ax with city employees who he believes were Sharpe loyalist and have many sitting home collecting a paycheck from the city since July first when they can be at work if not to do nothing but work in the safe summer programs that the Mayor wants implemented.

My advice to Mr. Booker is to reign in Pablo we elected him not is Chief of staff and if this continues you are about to see a movement walking towards city hall and trust me Pablo has already made enough enemies for this to happen.

Do you care to discuss what type of movement this will be and what factual evidence do you have to back up your statements. Citizens have the right and should excercise theior rights but I think they should be done accordingly.

I think it is rather interesting that yes only 45 days into an administration and a stampede is about to take place in City Hall. Lay offs have occured and many were well deserved. To plan a movement based on lay offs is rather immature. In every new administration in this state and throughout the country "house is cleaned" that is part of politics. If you can't stand the heat well then stay out of the kitchen.

In regards to the Chief of Staff- who are we to dictate to the Mayor who he confers with in regards to policies. Can the American people tell Cheney or Rowe to stop running the country? I don't think so. That's politics counter and learn to deal with it.

In regards to the policing, there is no doubt that a more effective and seasoned Director needs to be appointed immediately. This is a legitmate concern and one that should be communicatedf in the forms of writing and calling your counsel and Mayor.

The East and North wards predominently (Portuguese and Hispanic) have always had Carte Blanche services when it came to their establishments.....I can recall an officer getting ready to ticket a roll of "double parked" cars on Ferry Street", but because the owner's new a higher up in the Newark PD, the police officer was order not to ticket the vehicles. This is why the morale of the Newark Police Department is at it's all time low. It's always been Blacks against Hispanics....etc...etc... You have cops with senority still walking the beat religiously, then you get a new comer who happens to be Hispanic or other than Black, and a Rookie who is placed in a cushy position throughout his/her career! This person because of the color of his/her skin and the color of his/her superior's skin have it made.

In all these posts...that you mentioned.....You and I were going back and forth about the supposed rights of these killers.....I was one of the main people being vocal and on the side of the cops (which is a rarity)....So like i said...the only difference between you and TE2 is that you can write better than he can.....But you both still have a problem with comprehension. I would say on at least two things it's markedly different: Inviting criticism is a sea change from shutting people out from speaking in council meetings (ask Ras). Soliciting accountability is the polar opposite of they ain't shooting at [me].

Are you telling me because Sharpe administration may have done things wrong it is alright for this administration to do those same things. We voted for Booker cause we wanted change to me that is complaint enough against the James administration but I see we are going to have to complain again come four years from now cause I will not sit and let Pablo or Booker repeat Sharpes mistakes.

To say "nothing much is being done to stop it" is also BS. Enormous amounts of effort over the last twenty, thrity years have gone into trying to bring an end to violence and poverty.

This societal probelm is incredibly complex and there are no easy solutions. If there were -- we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Some of them get by because they look younger, but the reality is they are the ages I mentioned. In age, they are considered adults, but in many cases,their minsets are child like as when a child throws a temper tantrum. A child will throw things but these men children shoot and kill when they don't get their way, or when someone does something to them they don't like or appreciate.

You hit the nail on the head - I agree entirely.

Alas, I don't think it'd fly as anyone 18+ is legally an adult even if mentally they are not. :(
