Let the Newark Police Department know how they measure up!
As a member of the Altus Global Alliance, the Vera Institute of Justice is planning the Altus Police Station Visitors Week in North America, which will take place October 29- November 4.
This project coordinates visits of local community members to their police station and the Newark PD has agreed to participate! During these visits, community members will learn about the services provided by their police station and will assess the station by filling out a 20 question Kit- thereby allowing the community to assess the services provided to them. The top three stations in each region will be awarded and their services and practices will be shared both regionally and globally.
Police Week visits are scheduled in 20 countries (and counting) and all materials are available in 16 languages. This project grows out of the Altus member organizations’ mutual desire to promote community policing and police accountability at the global level.
