Can anyone explain the success of Luis Quintana?
He is viewed by many one of 2 ways: A pioneer of the Latino community or a token of the African-American community. However one thing both communities agree upon is this: he has always been utterly useless and ineffective! Although he must carry the lion’s share of responsibility for this he has also been a victim throughout his entire career. He has been manipulated and victimized by his “advisor” Luiggi Campana. If you follow Luis Q’s career closely it can reveal the intentions and desires of the Evil Luiggi perfectly. As a token yes man for then Mayor Sharpie, life was good, Luis Q had a full time job and the Evil Luiggi raided any and all political patronage Luis Q had by getting all of his strictly Ecuadorean crew hired at City Hall. As assistant B.A. the Evil Luiggi neglected Luis Q’s PR base and
monopolized whatever he could get under Luis Q’s name and in the process Luis Q couldn’t get anything done for himself as it was exhausted by the Evil Luiggi.
Now let’s see how Luis Q’s politics were manipulated by the Evil Luiggi.
When the Evil Luiggi couldn’t get what he wanted (security for his wife because her job at the Newark Housing Authority was in jeopardy) he
made Luis Q bite the hand that fed him: He ran against Sharpie for Senate!
Of course this was an ill-fated move but one where the Evil Luiggi positioned Luis Q to jump ship onto the Booker Bandwagon. Now Luis Q had a reason to be ineffective: he was fighting the machine that made him: the old Sharpie crew!
The manipulation continues…….
During the 2006 campaign Luis Q was threatening to jump ship or sabotage the Booker campaign. That was until they were able to strike a deal to
protect the Evil Luiggi at the Board of Ed with a cushy get fat job, but
equally as important, they were able to strike a deal with the devil himself,
Steve Adubato, to get the evil Luiggi’s wife a job at the County. So the fat
get fatter and the Evil Luiggi continues to control Luis Q for his own
personal gain.
