View Full Version : Let us not forget about the Irvington Woman Killed
By a Stray Bullet the house was shot up and one of the Bullets killed Kim, and her family is torn apart during the Holiday season as well.
Prayer will be going out to that family.

Stray Bullet Kills Woman in New Jersey
By NATE SCHWEBER and ANDY NEWMAN
The New York Times
A woman in Irvington, N.J., was killed instantly on Saturday night when a stray bullet pierced the wall of her bedroom and struck her in the head, the authorities and relatives said.
The woman, Rosetta Peacock, 30, was hit by a bullet fired from a passing car, said Paul M. Loriquet, a spokesman for the Essex County prosecutor’s office.
Mr. Loriquet said he did not know who had been the intended target, but four shots were fired near Ms. Peacock’s house on 19th Avenue around 5:40 p.m. No one else was injured.
The police have no suspects, Mr. Loriquet said.
Ms. Peacock’s mother, Leslie Hagan, found her dead on the floor when she entered the bedroom.
“She didn’t deserve this,” Ms. Hagan said, sobbing outside the house on Sunday evening. “She stayed to herself. She was quiet. She didn’t bother nobody.”
Ms. Peacock would have turned 31 on Monday. Her life was claimed by what her mother said was the latest in a number of shootings in Irvington, a town of 60,000 just west of Newark that is one of the state’s most violent areas.
In 2006, Irvington had the highest violent-crime rate in the state and the third-highest murder rate, after Camden and Newark.
Ms. Peacock worked for years at McDonald’s restaurants at Newark Liberty International Airport and in downtown Newark. She loved music, particularly that of Mary J. Blige, Kanye West and 50 Cent, her mother said. She had no children.
For her birthday, Ms. Peacock had asked for a Nintendo Wii video game, which her mother did not have a chance to give her.
More than a dozen balloons with “Happy Birthday” on them were taped to the house, outside of Ms. Peacock’s bedroom, near where the bullet had breached the wall. Thirteen votive candles burned beneath them.

Now we are no longer safe in out homes because a bullet could enter and strike us dead.
I saw the monter of the woman who was killed on the news. I don't know when the last time I saw a mother as devastated as this woman's mother.
The images of parents devastated because they've lost their children is sad to see. I wish I didn't have to see.

Just getting back from visiting both families, and it's really a shame not to mention very sad to walk into a house during the Christmas, and New Years time, and see Gifts under the tree, houses all decorated, children running around, and the adults Mourning, crying, hurt, depressed, and angry because their loved one just been killed.
That was the scene at both houses, and my friend Dawn is devastated.

When I go to visit families I go to Pray with them and to give them support, and to see if we can assist them in any way I come to them as someone from the community who Cares----------- I do not go to ask questions of the family members about who, what when why, and where---- that's why we have the police department I am not a cop, so I come for the Spirituality, and the police come to ask questions.

Oh my bad!:D
I thought with your scanner et al, you were affiliated with the police. I thought you had the inside story of what really took place.
btw- You should be assisting the police as much as you can. That's key to how crimes are solved.

TE2 does help the police. He races to crime scenes and stands in front of the cameras so the reporters don't bother the cops.

What camera's there was no camera's there this morning so get it right, alot of what I do is never on camera or in print, beside I'm the media so if I wanted to be on camera it would be for my show, if I wanted to be in print I could write my own story.
Secondly I do not have a Police scanner I have a radio shack scanner, and you too can have one all you have to do is go to radio shack and buy one.
Please do us a favor in 2008 get your information right, because others might belive your inaccurate mess and run with it--- Sought of like the story in yesterday's paper about Mr. Orr and Ras you guy's started running with it and it was not even correct, but many statements was made on here, and I did not read no apologies.-----------so please get your facts right when talking about others in 08.

God Bless you for taking time out to go and pray with the family, as well as lending any support you can. Day after day, I come to this forum and watch how everyone here always attacks your goodwill and it really bothers me. As someone who has had close friends/family murdered in the past, I understand the comfort a victims family feels when a stranger extends themselves. It really means alot. Even though you are not familiar with the family, praying with them brings alot of comfort and it is also comforting for them to know that someone besides immediate family actually cares.
