...when the leg was broken on a "ski trip?" Let's just say that it actually happened on the boat. ;)

Please note that if you acquire a yacht, it is usually parked in the water at a birth. Do you expect Sharpe to park his yacht in the driveway on Wilbur Avenue? Duh:rolleyes: And, you pay a fee to park the boat - it is not a free parking space! Sharpe has had his boat for years - unfortunately it was even towed to his embarrassment on one occasion. The Star Ledger had a good time with that story.

My advice to you is that you stop being soooo jealous. The man is entitled to spend his money on some luxuary. Do you want in to live in public housing! Stop hating.

No one has ever proven Sharpe did anything illegal to amass the estate that he has. But, it is also legitimate to note that Sharpe's yacht is a $500,000 boat. And, if I am not mistaken, he has a dock for it at his second home at the Shore. The Yacht Club membership is simply another sign of Sharpe's largesse. As a public figure, people can certainly comment on these facts.

I'm confussed, was that his money or the City of Newark's money? Please think about your answer before you post....

...one point is that it's more than interesting that a man can be in charge of a city that lead the country in murders, car theft, and related crimes all under his 'watch,' plus a rising poverty rate and STILL manage to amass so much of a personal fortune that he leads the country as the highest paid mayor and flaunting his $ in front of the very people hurt by his (in)action! It's not jealousy or "hate" to question this; it's just logical to do so.

[/QUOTE What is the problem with Black Yacht owners forming their own club? Absolutely NOTHING. Back in the day, we had Black-owned Country Clubs, Tennis Clubs, and Retreats. Thanks to intergration, maybe, if one could afford the astronomical fees, they could use the "green" but PLEASE don't enter the CLUB HOUSE for a drink or samage. Not wanted. So, let's get off this topic, it makes folks look either envious or ignorant:eek

The men went into the military, went to college took teaching jobs or civil service gigs. Black women went to nursing school or teachers colleges or took gov. jobs. Once those Jim Crow signs (White only need apply) were taken down, Blacks with training and education, did well, and the smart ones, didn't squander their money, they bought property and made wise low-risk investments that paid off years later. So, it's no surprise that Sharpe did well, he obviously knew how to keep his hard earned quarters in his pocket. At 70 plus years, he should have something to show for his labor, cause if he didn't folks would be talking about how terrible that is.COLOR]

Sharpe sucked off the public teet, holding two elected positions, and his wife had an appointed position with a nice salary as well, while she was still a teacher. At the same time, the citizens of Newark were making less in real dollars. It's sickening that Sharpe could amass a nice personal fortune while engaged in so-called "public service" (you know, the type of service where you are supposed to make less money). That holds true for any politician. It has nothing to do with his right to join any club he wishes. Our public servants should not be able to get rich off public service.

[COLOR=white]No-one NEVER professed that Mr. James, when he was the mayor....that he did not do a great job for Newark in his earlier term. Oh yeah, he handled his handle! We're talking about now!

And the question still remains to be answered! (Excuse me, but isn't he on trial now?) Until then, keep shredding that paper for the ticket tape parade that you all anticipating.

Unless, it’s a FAREWELL party...I seriously hope you find somewhere to dump that garbage......because when he’s found guilty, the garbage men might be too drunk from celebrating to pick up the trash on your block!

Btw when you do see him, can you pass the word.... yo' you left the toilet seat up....and sh$$ is every where!

How was court today; does anyone know?

What was the demeanor of Dnice; I mean Officer Derrick Foster (James’ former body guard; I mean detail officer) how was he today on the stand?

Hey D, it was posted that James didn’t squander… D, what does that mean?…LOL...Oh my goodness, they should have been on that Vegas Va Voom trip, I lost my golf balls; I mean conference to recruit prospective developers…What?!

Folks came back from that trip looking just like, what was that black dude name from Newark that hit the lottery big and now he is broke as two left shoes; but check this out, know one was angry, you know why because it wasn''t their money! That big a$$ entourage and came back with not one developer.ummmmmmmmph!

Pla pla.......hahaha

Mr. James once owned waterfront property in Brick near friends of ours. It was a modest house, which was eclipsed by the obnoxious yacht on the canal in back - named "The Renaissance."
