Rebuilding parks in Newark

If anyone knows of any parks in the City that are in need of rebuilding please contact the Newark Firefighters Union at 973-733-7515.

With the proceeds from our First Annual Golf Outing in 2008, we refurbished Liberty Park on the corner of Chestnut St. and Hennessey St. in the eastward. Once I figure out how to downsize the pictures, I will upload them to Newarkspeaks. I tried but the sizes are larger than the site allows.

We had our Second Annual Golf outing in May @ the Weequahic Golf course and it will more than likely be held there every year (as was the first).

Note: ALL PROCEEDS from the golf event go toward the building/refurbishing of the parks. The total for Liberty Park was $24,000.00.

How wonderful!!!!! The Mt. Vernon Park in Ivy Hill could really use a renovation. I will call the council office and give them your number. The office number is 973 733-6427

[Make Newark Clean]

First make sure your pics are gifs or jpg files, not the much larger bmp files. If they are open them up with Paintbrush and save as a jpg or gif to your desktop.

Then open up your pictures in Microsoft Picture Manager

Select Edit Pictures, and RESIZE. Easier to use the "Percentage" option.

Save. You can check the size of the file by rightclicking on its desktop icon and checking its Properties. If it's still too large, repeat process.

You can also join a free picture host like Photobucket. www.photobucket.com. Post the pics there and copy each pic's URL and paste into Newarkspeaks using tags.
