Default MUA Drama

Get a job at the Plainfield MUA, be a millionnaire!

Quote:
Public outcry about the PMUA during the last few years has covered topics including dramatic rate hikes, exorbitant discretionary spending, the sudden resignations of two top executives last year and a recent award of $1 million in post-employment compensation to those former executives.

Longtime resident and city Democratic Committee figurehead Dottie Gutenkauf called the latter move a “morally reprehensible” decision made by a pair of commissioners who apparently circumvented a continuing arbitration process to get the deal done, according to a recent Courier News investigation. But one of those commissioners, Malcolm Dunn, defended the payout during Monday’s meeting, albeit in a somewhat vague way.

“You might not like what I did,” Dunn said, “but I did it with my eyes wide open.”
