I predict the MUA will pass. This council will sell everything short of (and in some case they will) their mother before they give up their free cars, free gas, free food (good grief), free car insurance, travel expenses, community slush fund, etc. This is all about maintaining their third world ruler lifestyle even while Newark sinks further into the fiscal abyss. They all know that Newark is unsustainable, but they all want to live on the gravytrain just a little bit longer. They want to stretch it for just a wee bit more, just one or two more years. Life for them is good, no, make that great.
Trust me, this is a done deal. These folks are completely predictable. Of course, I could be wrong...but I don't think so. I know what motivates this crew. Greed! |

this MUA, eventually Newark will be stuck with all of the bills this quasi-governmental agency will create, yes, create. We will need an Municipal Credit Union to one either prevent us from creating an MUA to manage our water, because Newark can do it ourselves, through a Municipal Credit Union, or two, we will need a Credit Union to sustain us after the MUA is bled dry through mismanagement and high water/sewage utility bills.
My Mother Told Me Years Before she Died, "Son, remember the movie Mad Max, about the barren wasteland. In years to come just as wars were and are fought over oil, so shall they be fought over water..." ![]() ![]() ![]() Funny, Dark Knight Actor, who portrayed Bain, Tom Hardy, is staring in a remake of Mad Max to be released this fall or early next year... I wonder if he took the roll because he visited Newark, and saw all the scuff over water.. Wishful thinking, I know... ![]() ![]() Respect!!! |
