Default Guardian Angels Head for Newark in Wake of (NPD) Layoffs

Perhaps Booker can fire up the vigilante van again. It had a police escort, right? Never mind. God have mercy.

Guardian Angels head for Newark in wake of layoffs

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS • November 30, 2010

NEWARK — Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa (SLEE'-wah) says the anti-crime group plans to come to New Jersey's largest city in the wake of the layoffs of more than 150 police officers.

The Newark Police Department finalized 167 layoffs Monday night after talks broke down with Mayor Cory Booker.

The layoffs mark the city's largest force reduction in 32 years.

Booker and Police Director Garry McCarthy have scheduled a late-morning news conference Tuesday.

Sliwa says the New York-based Guardian Angels will assemble at City Hall Tuesday afternoon.

The layoffs were announced this fall to offset what Booker characterized as an $11 million budget gap. Firefighters also were targeted for layoffs but reached a settlement.

About 400 white-collar workers also face layoffs Tuesday.

Ah, who says that Booker wasn't innovative in his skills and crafts. Now we have a group of people who don't know the city, in it trying to Police it. i told everyone before and i will say it again, Welcome To Newark New Jersey, Home of the Guilliani/Bloomberg failed clone experiment. (Booker Incorporated)

I wonder how many lawsuits are going to take place during and after there arrival. Imagine that, Guardian Angels, patrolling Bradley Courts, Seth Boyden, Fairview Homes, 9th Street and 6th Avenue, Clinton and Chadwick Avenue, Avon Avenues, Elizabeth Avenues anyway, this is a disaster waiting to happen.

Smdh!!!

Guardian Angels in Newark brings to mind those famous words by that great urban savant - LL Cool J who once said, "You couldn't bust a grape in a fruit fight." This whole strategy seems so ineffectual.

If the Nation of Islam, the Black Panthers and various other groups cannot make any inroads into stopping the street violence, what can these push-backs in history do? These guys are in for the party of their life, especially if they are unarmed. Good luck!

Default The Mayor Was Asked About The Guardian Angels

coming to Newark and he said when asked by a reporter of News12 he didn't know anything about the GA coming to Newark.

The Angels don't carry guns, but the thugs in Newark carry guns.

It doesn't say anywhere that Booker had anything to do with Sliwa's publicity stunt. I really couldn't see him sharing this spotlight anyway.

Great. Newark loses 167 cops and gains another media whore...

And like Director McCarthy told Eyewitness News, Newark thugs have better guns and more bullets.
