What has Ms. Anderson done that Ms. Bolden and Dr. Chaney didn't do that deserves her to be on this list other than Booker recommending her?

Newark Schools Superintendent Cami Anderson is on Time magazine's list of 100 Most Influential People in the World because of her commitment to turn around the city's struggling schools. The list was released today. Newark Mayor Cory Booker penned Anderson’s bio for the listing and praised her as a “modern day freedom fighter” who has redefined expectations for children who had been incarcerated or pregnant or who had “dropped out, aged out or flunked out.”

She hasn't done anything more than any other urban superintendent. Some have been a t for years and have actual accomplishments to their name. Anderson just works for Booker and they have to jam him into the list somehow. Note they didn't mention she can't go out in Newark without police escorts, that is how much the City loves her and her plans!

So, according to the Devils owner himself, Cory once called Vanderbeek a "straight shooter" and a "lifelong friend." Apparently, for Vanderbeek, not so much today. Now Booker effuses that Cami Anderson is a "modern day freedom fighter." For crying out loud!

Cory, please take it easy on the rhetoric. It's great that you support Christie's top-down pick. Most of us hope, I'm sure, that finally the state might get it right after over a decade and a half of controlling Newark's schools. But a "modern day freedom fighter"? That's what Ms Anderson is? Really?

Look, if Booker says that Cami fought for the freedom of Newark school children it must be true. Right? Time Magazine believes it because Cory told them so. Next Cami will be on the Nobel Peace Prize committee's short list for the next award.
