Requirements:
EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Health Education, Public Health, Community Health Education, Nursing or a related Health Education field.

EXPERIENCE: Two years of experience assessing community health education needs and, in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of diversified health education programs in a local health department or state or local health agency.

NOTE: A Master's degree in one of the areas listed above may be substituted for 1 year of the required experience.

CERTIFICATION: Applicants must possess a certification as a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) issued by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. Please attach a copy of your certification to your application. Failure to do so will result in ineligibility.

NOTE: A Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a license as a Professional Nurse in the State of New Jersey may be substituted for the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) credential. If you are substituting education and a license for the required certification, please attach a copy of your transcript and provide the specific details of your license, including the license number, as indicated in section #19 of the application. Failure to do so will result in ineligibility.

LICENSE: Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
